Ask
just about any golfer what they would like to change about their
game and more often than not, "more distance" will come
up. We all would like to hit a longer ball, but the secret is
learning to do it with accuracy. There has to be a way for the
average golfer to hit the ball farther and still maintain control.
Luckily for you, top PGA instructor Jim McLean has been obsessing
over this too, and has come out with the McLean Power System,
a program that promises to add ten to twenty yards to your shots
within thirty days.
The
idea here is to use a system of three special clubs to build up
strength, increase swing speed, and hone accuracy. McLean believes
that by increasing clubhead speed by five to ten miles per hour,
the average golfer can hit longer, more powerful shots without
sacrificing control. He then spent years designing special clubs
to be used in conjunction with his unique training regimen to
get the proper results.
Sounds
great, but does it work? Definitely. By using the clubs and following
the instructions on the DVD, I was averaging fifteen to twenty
extra yards out of my driver on down to my eight iron in just
a few short weeks. The program consists of three forty-minute
sessions per week with at least a day of rest in between. During
each session, you devote about ten to twelve minutes of work with
each of the three clubs: the McLean Release Club, the Under-Speed
Training Club and the Over-Speed Training club.
The
red 3 ½ pound McLean Release club builds up the muscles
needed for the long shots. This unique club has a deliberate bend
in the shaft so you can feel the club release. It also comes equipped
with a special grip to ensure proper hand positioning. The blue
Under-Speed Training club is about 20% heavier that a standard
steel-shafted five-iron. After hitting a few balls with this club,
your five-iron will feel like a feather. The yellow Over-Speed
Training club finishes your session by helping you perfect the
tempo of your new faster swing. Being 15% lighter than a standard
five-iron and with a more flexible shaft, it is easier to tell
if the club is breaking at the proper points.
Bottom
line is that the McLean Power System is a set of very effective
tools to help you build your most powerful swing. Used in conjunction
with the instructional DVD, you will soon be advancing the ball
like you never thought you could. The McLean Power System comes
with the McLean Release Club, the Under-Speed Training Club, the
Over-Speed Training club and one instructional DVD. For about
one hundred and ninety bucks you can get one wherever golf equipment
is sold or online at www.SwingRite2.com.
